  • LODGING IN OUR HEATED/AIR-CONDITIONED KENNEL

Leave your pet with us when you go out of town and have a completely worry-free time away.  Our pet guests get fresh air, 2 meals a day, and lots of attention.  For our cuddly canines we provide suites, not cages. All of our suites have outdoor access and pet cots.  Our feline guests are kept in their own cat condo. Each condo has a shelf for your cat to sleep on and a sliding door to allow your cat outside on its private veranda. We offer playtimes in both our indoor and outdoor play areas.  We feed Hill's Science Diet to all boarders in accordance to it's age and weight.  If you wish, we will gladly feed your pet it's own diet.  We can also take care of your pet's medication needs while staying with us.  For the safety of the pets in our care, we require that all vaccinations be up to date.  Remember, holidays and school vacations book fast, so make your reservation early. Take the clinic tour to see pictures of our facility.Vetsuite_Img_45925

  • DAY CARE

Basic:  Give your dog (or cat) a comfortable stay in a safe and clean, climate-controlled suite (or condo) for the day.
Deluxe: This upgrade will give your dog (or cat) a 10-minute AM playtime session and an afternoon snack.

This is a great way to introduce our facilities to a pet that has never boarded!

  • IMMUNIZATION AND WELLNESS CARE

We strive to prevent illness whenever possible. The time and effort invested in Wellness programs has rewards for both pets and owners. Our Wellness programs are designed specifically for your pet and include: Comprehensive physical exam; internal parasite testing; heartworm and flea control; vaccination program; and specialized blood tests for all life stages.

  • DENTAL CARE

Did you know that regular dental care could add up to 5 years to your pet's life?  Poor oral health can cause pain, tooth loss and decay, and lead to other serious illnesses as bacteria from the mouth enters the bloodstream and spreads to vital organs.  Bad breath, tartar, and red, swollen gums are signs that your pet needs dental care.  We offer professional dental cleanings while your pet is under anesthesia.   Our technicians use an ultrasonic scaler to clean above and below the gum line, high-speed polishing, and extract any damaged or diseased teeth.

  • RADIOLOGY

Radiology – or X-rays – help our veterinarians evaluate muscular-skeletal, cardiovascular(cardiopulmonary), gastrointestinal, reproductive and urinary systems.

  • SURGERY

We provide a full range of surgical services, including spays, neuters, soft-tissue, gastrointestinal, and tumor removals.  We recommend preanesthetic bloodwork to screen your pet's health before surgery.  We also recommend pre- and post-operative pain medications to promote relief and healing.

  • IN-HOUSE LAB

The Animal Hospital of Orleans has sophisticated diagnostic equipment to accurately assess your pet's health.  Our hospital has a full-service lab for testing blood, urine, and fecal samples as well as screening for heartworm disease, feline leukemia/FIV, and tick-borne diseases such as Lyme disease.  Our technicians can run complete blood chemistries, electrolytes and hematology in-house, so you can receive an accurate picture of your pet's health status in minutes instead of days.

  • MedRX

Our new MedRX Vetscope offers full diagnostic and procedural applications such as otoscopy, dental exams, ophthalmology, and biopsies.  It also is equipped with an ear irrigation system which allows us to flush and clean ears more effectively.

  • BEHAVIORAL MEDICINE

We offer professional behavior consultations.  Through these consultations a variety of approaches to behavioral problems may be discussed.  This may include behavioral modification, special training tools, as well as drug therapy.

  • FULLY STOCKED PHARMACY

We stock a wide range of the best veterinary drugs in the animal healthcare field.  Federal law requires us to have an established doctor/pet/owner relationship before dispensing any prescription medication.  This is why we cannot dispense prescription drugs to pets we have never seen or to pets not seen within a year.

  • SENIOR CARE PROGRAM

For dogs and cats 7 years and older.  Often, as they age, pets begin to develop diseases such as diabetes, heart disease, endocrine disease, and cancer.  These diseases can go unnoticed in their early stages and that is why we highly recommend our senior wellness program.  The basic program includes a physical exam, comprehensive bloodwork, urinalysis, and cytology.  We are able to package the basic program at a discounted price.  You can also add radiographs and/or dentistry at a discounted price.

  • HOSPICE/EUTHANASIA SERVICES

Saying goodbye to a long-time friend is painful. We work with clients to ensure their pet's comfort and dignity. Services include taking care of the remains as directed by the client.

  • MICROCHIPPING

We offer the Home Again Microchip System.  We can place a small microchip under your pet's skin for permanent identification.  The chip is coded with a number that is unique to your pet.  To identify your pet once the chip is in place, a scanner can be waved over your pet and the number will appear.  These scanners are currently being used by police, humane societies and shelters to help return lost pets to their owners.

  • NUTRITIONAL COUNSELING

Some pets require special food, and all pets benefit from a balanced diet. Our trained and certified staff is available to help you choose the right diet for your pet to keep him or her happy, healthy and active.

  • PAIN MANAGEMENT

Veterinary patients feel pain and discomfort under the same circumstances as people do. We know that recognizing and alleviating pain in animals is the essence of good patient care.

  • GROOMING AND BATHING

Routine baths are available Monday through Friday.  Nail trims and ear cleanings are included.  For clips, our groomer is available by appointment Wednesday through Friday.  Rates vary depending upon the size and breed of the animal.
